The PVILCA is a nonprofit -- 501(c)(3) -- whose purpose is to:

Preserve the past and remember the glory years of the Prairie View Interscholastic League,
which existed from 1920 to 1970, and instill
personal pride and self-esteem by increasing the cultural awareness of the PVIL heritage. - Identify former PVIL coaches inducted into the Texas High School Coaches Association Hall of Honor.
- Develop a museum to house the PVIL memorabilia.
The goals and objectives of the corporation are to:
- Seek PVILCA memberships from young male and female coaches.

Acquire University Interscholastic League (UIL) sanction and recognition of all individual
athletic, school, and coaching records from the
PVIL in baseball, basketball, football, swimming, tennis, and track and field.
