The PVILCA is a nonprofit -- 501(c)(3) -- whose purpose is to:

  • Preserve the past and remember the glory years of the Prairie View Interscholastic League, which existed from 1920 to 1970, and instill
personal pride and self-esteem by increasing the cultural awareness of the PVIL heritage.
  • Identify former PVIL coaches inducted into the Texas High School Coaches Association Hall of Honor.
  • Develop a museum to house the PVIL memorabilia.

The goals and objectives of the corporation are to:

  • Seek PVILCA memberships from young male and female coaches.
  • Acquire University Interscholastic League (UIL) sanction and recognition of all individual athletic, school, and coaching records from the
PVIL in baseball, basketball, football, swimming, tennis, and track and field.
